The October GLOSSYBOX Review: Angel or Devil

Hello! It is that wonderful time of the month again: GLOSSYBOX review time! I love receiving the great skincare, makeup and haircare products that GLOSSYBOX send over. I am always on the look out for a new product that I can adopt into my daily or occasion routines. For the GLOSSYBOX October box, they opted for a ‘Angel or Devil’ theme, which was really cool because they had two different boxes that you could receive! I received the Devil box, which fortunately contained with all the warm and reddish hues I love!

Recently, they also announced their very cool Xmas Advent Calendar for 2019! Containing 25 products ranging from the spheres of makeup, skincare and haircare (with 15 full-size products) worth over £370 for just £70/£80. I shared this on my September review as well, and there are still some left.

Now, without a further ado, here is my October GLOSSYBOX review!

Products for a great pamper evening

First of all, the October GLOSSYBOX had a fab few products for a pamper sesh. The Plumping Gold Peel Off Mask by Que Bella Beauty is enriched with hyaluronic acid salts and organic rose water that works to brighten your skin. You leave it on for 20 minutes while watching Netflix or running some household errands, and viola! Peel off masks are great, and this one looks really nice. Even if you wanted to buy it, it’s only £2.49!

The Devil’s Dust Foaming Bath Powder from Bubble T Cosmetics (designed with the groovy Devil GLOSSYBOX eye!) creates a lovely foamy bath with a lovely fruity scent!

And last but not least, autumn seems like the perfect time to start drinking loads of hot chocolate, so the Sticky Toffee Pudding White Hot Chocolate from Whittard of Chelsea is a perfect addition to an autumnal GLOSSYBOX. I have already tried this, and it is sooo good!! I am definitely buying more of this when I can.

The makeup products received

Secondly, the October GLOSSYBOX had some great makeup! I was very happy to receive the Eye Define Crayon Liner from MCoBeauty – it is so nice! On most days, I prefer to use a crayon liner rather than a gel or liquid eyeliner pen, and this one glides really easily and has enough vibrancy for its thin line. It’s not great for glittery eye looks, but it definitely works better on top of matte eyeshadow looks. I love smokey eye, so this product is perfect for me.

Also, to further a fiery eye look, the Velvet Touch Palette by StyLondon is a wonderful collection of fiery reds, purples, browns and oranges for that perfect autumnal (or Halloween!) look. It is highly pigmented, and the glossy metallic tones really shine.

To top off a vibrant and bold makeup look, we have the Maximatte Lipstick Crayon in the shade Devil Red by Lord & Berry. I already own a plum shade in the Lord & Berry Lipstick range, so I was happy to finally to receive a shade of red that doesn’t look weird with my skin tone. This one is just dark enough to not be insanely bright, which I really like. I also love the staying power of lip crayons!

Final Verdict?

I loved the GLOSSYBOX October edit, and this was mostly due to the fact I was given things I did not have before. I don’t own a palette that has red and orange tones (and now I do!), and I really wanted an eyeliner crayon and a darker red lipstick. Also, who doesn’t like a good bath or indulgent hot chocolate to enjoy after a long day?

Very happy!

Unfortunately, the October box is sold out! However, you can buy all the products on the GLOSSYBOX online shop! Click the image below to save on your GLOSSYBOX subscription and pre-order your November box.
