Hello! It is that wonderful time of the month again: monthly GLOSSYBOX review time! I have been a subscriber for around 6 months now, and I love receiving the great skincare, makeup and haircare products that GLOSSYBOX send over. This is mostly because I struggle to make decisions and, until recently, always stuck with the same brands. But with GLOSSYBOX, I get to try many exciting products that I wouldn’t normally come across. Sometimes, I even then opt for these products to replace my existing ones.
For September, GLOSSYBOX opted for a ‘Delicious Beauty’ theme, providing products that smell good enough to eat (but please don’t). They sent over products with scents such as coconut, banana, florals, strawberry and sweet almond. Lovely!
Recently, they also announced their very cool Xmas Advent Calendar for 2019! Containing 25 products ranging from the spheres of makeup, skincare and haircare (with 15 full-size products) worth over £370 for just £70/£80. Check it out before it sells out!
Without a further ado, here is my September GLOSSYBOX review!
P.S. The bar of chocolate will not be featuring in my review. But I can reveal that it was so nice!
MAYY Beauty – Banana Setting Powder
£15 at MAYY Beauty
This loose setting powder is sooo fine and soft. The mineral-based banana powder is great for “baking” (a.k.a placing powder on top of your concealer to help set it). Better yet? It is paraben free, cruelty free and vegan. This is especially good if (like me) you have oily skin, because you apply it to the areas that are specifically prone to becoming oily (i.e. t-zone, under the eye and chin) and really helps to stop those areas from becoming too shiny. Therefore, your makeup stays on for longer! As it is translucent, it is great for all skin tones. Thanks GLOSSYBOX!
Mitchell and Peach – Flora No. 1 Fine Edition Eau de Parfum
Deluxe Mini (17.3ml) for £29.75 / Full-size (50ml) for £85 at Mitchell and Peach
It is really easy to provide a GLOSSYBOX review for perfume. I love getting new perfumes, but that is mostly because I’m quite incapable of making perfume decisions myself. However, this Eau de Parfum smells so good! It isn’t too strong and definitely has legs. I am especially a fan of floral perfumes (not everyone is), so I particularly love this one with its rose, ylang-ylang, peony, lavender and sweet fennel tones. I will definitely be wearing this out on special occasions.
Colgate – Max White – Charcoal Whitening Toothpaste
£4 at Boots
Formulated with activated charcoal and micro-particles, it really works hard to remove stains on the surface of your teeth. I have always been curious about activated charcoal and never used it before, so I was happy to start using this to brush my teeth!
Palmer’s Coconut Oil Formula Deep Conditioning Protein Pack
I am always on the look out for more deep conditioners in order to find the one that works best. So, I was happy to receive this. My hair is quite dry, quite damaged and really quite needs that extra moisture. Formulated with Fair Trade Certified Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil (to restore essential moisture) and Thitian Monoi Oil (to hydrate and improve manageability), this hair mask is free of sulfates, parabens, phthalates, mineral oil, gluten and dyes. It is also infused with Tiare flower petals and contains numerous proteins to help combat frizz. The Keratin Protein helps to strengthen and repair, while the Silk Protein helps to restore shine. If you use this once a week, it is also immensely affordable at just over £2 a pack. The deep conditioner promises to deeply hydrate my hair and repair some of the damage, so I am excited to try it out!
Carex – Fun Edition Love Hearts Hand Gel
£1 at Boots
I always need a hand gel to carry around with me, so I was happy to receive this one from Carex. (The pink ones that smell of strawberries are also my favourites). The Fun Edition hand gels are quite creamy too, which is nice.
Delhicious Body – Original Black Tea Body Scrub (100g)
£7.95 at Delhicious Beauty
Finally, this was probably the product I was looking forward to the most. I love tea, and I love body scrubs. Also love things that smell nice… so yes I was immediately sold. This tea leaves and antioxidant-loaded scrub is great for getting rid of some of that top layer of dry and dull skin, while also promising to get rid of toxins. Also, it’s natural, vegan and cruelty free. The scrub predominately includes black Assam tea leaves, which contains a lot of caffeine to wake up the skin and exfoliate it. It also contains brown sugar and Himalayan pink salt for further exfoliation. Not only that, but it also smells really nice due to the sweet almond oil and other essential oils that are in it – leaving your skin with a lovely almond and orange scent. Mmm!
